Best Practices for Compliance

Follow these guidelines to ensure your ringless voicemail campaigns remain compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.

Do's

  • Always be compliant when loading a contact in your portal. Follow the law, a legitimate, professional list vendor can assist you with this, we have a recommended vendor but you are free to choose your own.
  • Include your business name and a valid callback number in every voicemail message
  • Provide a clear and easy opt-out mechanism in every voicemail you send
  • Regularly scrub your contact lists against the National Do Not Call Registry
  • Honor all opt-out requests immediately and maintain a suppression list
  • Keep detailed records of consent, campaigns, and opt-out requests for at least 5 years

Don'ts

  • Never send voicemails to numbers on the Do Not Call Registry without prior consent
  • Don't use misleading or spoofed caller ID information in your messages
  • Avoid sending messages outside of permitted calling hours (8 AM - 9 PM local time)
  • Don't ignore or delay processing opt-out requests from recipients
  • Never purchase or use contact lists without verified consent documentation
  • Don't make false or misleading claims in your voicemail content
